Production Journal, Creative Media:
This is work that we did was about all the different genres in ‘creative media’
These are some of the jobs involved with creative media. Under the job headings are some of the qualities that the jobs will require.
My CV's:
My video CV has been inspired by Youtubers doing 'Draw My Life' videos. This is where they draw on a whiteboard there experiences and talk over the footage about their life ( running commentary).
My ideas on what goes into my video CV is these CVs that people have already created. There video idea give me help on what to put into my own video CV.
As well as this, I did a traditional CV. This can then be given to the employee as a easy reference of me . The things I put on there were : about me, hobbies, work experience, grades, skills, etc.
This is work that we did was about all the different genres in ‘creative media’
These are some of the jobs involved with creative media. Under the job headings are some of the qualities that the jobs will require.
The
jobs from the list that interest me the most are the camera operator and
photographer. These interest me the most. The qualities involved are mainly
teamwork and co-operation. I would be able to work with someone else well and
will be able to listen to feedback (positive or negative). This feedback will
be used to improve my work.
Camera operator: I would be able to hold
the camera for long period of time. Also, I can work in a team with other
people to contribute any ideas that would be necessary to the task at hand. However, my knowledge with a camera is not
the best as I have never handed a camera professionally, but I can always
improve on my skills by practising with the camera.
Photographer:
In this job, it requires a certain level of patience. I believe I have the
patience, as you need it in order to capture the right photo for what you
require. Also, the creative flair for an idea is there as I am very creative
and know what is expected.
However, the have never used the equipment professionally.
This can be improved withpractice.
Pros and cons:
The pros of a camera operator: As you are
operating a camera, you will be open to new experiences as you will be close to
the action all the time. This will be like at live events.
The cons of a camera operator: there are
extremely long days, which may require very little breaks. This can be
stressful on your arms.
The pros of a photographer: When holding a camera, it allows the
photographer to be creative in their chosen subject. They can choose what to
take and when to take them. You are not rooted to one specific subject. The
choice is yours on what you take.
The cons of being a photographer: A
photographers have to work long hours and may even have to work at some
peculiar times. They may have to work late at night or early in the morning.
Also, depending on what photography you get into, you may be working with heavy
equipment so you will have to be strong as it may be tiring.
Salaries:
Camera operator: Depending on where you
work and the experience you have in the field, the average cameraman earns
around £35,000.
Photographer: Depending on the experience
you have with cameras and where you work, a photographer can earn, on average,
around £20,000. However, if you’re capturing photos for a big company or a big
special event, pay maybe different.
Overview:
In the assessment brief, I have worked on
bullet point 1 and 3 because I have been researching into jobs that I prefer to
have when I begin working, researching different skills, techniques, pros and
cons, salaries, etc. to find out what we can. We have also been keeping a
production log so that we can keep a track of the research we have done and
also any tasks we have completed.
During this lesson, we have used a range of
techniques that will help us . those techniques have been :
·
Research
·
Teamwork
·
Following instructions
·
Sorting/ listing
·
Self-reflection.
These links to
Sion’s lessons on project connect because we learnt about: respect, purpose, self-development,
responsibility and consistency. These link with Terri’s lesson because we use
those techniques to work well with each other, collaborate and get the work
done.
